Flora FAQ
We believe informed consumers, dispensaries, and partners make better choices. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about Flora Arbor, our cultivation standards, our products, and our commitment to clean, uncompromising cannabis.

Remediation is a practice used in the cannabis industry to make product pass mandatory lab testing after it has failed for mold or yeast. This typically involves exposing the cannabis to radiation or ozone gas to kill microbes.
While remediation may result in a passing test, it does not remove dead mold spores or the harmful mycotoxins they produce. It is a practice that prioritizes profit over product integrity and consumer trust.
Flora brand flower has a zero-tolerance policy. If a harvest does not meet our standards from the start, it never makes it to a Flora package. We absorb the financial loss so our partners and customers never have to.
Yes. Over 95 percent of Flora’s genetic library is proprietary, developed through a meticulous 15-year phenotype hunting and breeding program led by our network of master growers. These cultivars are exclusive to Flora and cannot be found elsewhere in Illinois.
The few classic strains we offer are selected and cultivated to be best-in-class representations of their genetic profiles. Every strain is grown to the same uncompromising Flora standard.
The industry standard for pre-rolls is often poor, with many brands using trim, shake, or undesirable biomass that would otherwise be unsellable.
Flora pre-rolls are different by design. We use only premium, whole flower, the same slow-cured buds found in our jars. This ensures a smooth, even burn and a full, unaltered flavor profile. Our pre-rolls are a true flower experience, not a compromise.
A grassy or hay-like smell is a clear sign of an improper or rushed cure. It is caused by trapped chlorophyll in the plant material and is common when growers rush product to market.
At Flora, curing is treated as a critical step in quality. Every harvest undergoes a patient, minimum 30-day cold cure in a tightly controlled environment. This process allows chlorophyll to break down, terpene profiles to fully develop, and delivers a smoother, more flavorful experience.
Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd) is a widespread and often undetected disease in cannabis cultivation. It degrades potency and terpene expression, leaving even elite genetics dull and flavorless.
Many large-scale operators do not test for it or knowingly cultivate infected plants.
Flora treats HLVd as an existential threat to quality. We maintain strict quarantine and testing protocols, and our entire genetic library is certified HLVd-free. This ensures every plant performs at its full genetic potential.
Consistency is achieved through discipline and precision at every stage of production. From genetic selection and cultivation to curing and packaging, every step follows pharmaceutical-grade protocols.
Our breeders and cultivators bring deep expertise and care to every harvest, ensuring that each product reflects the same high standards batch after batch.
Because true quality delivers better value over time. Flora invests in exclusive genetics, pristine growing conditions, slow curing, and careful hand-trimming.
Lower-priced products often rely on shortcuts that compromise flavor, smoothness, and overall experience, frequently requiring more consumption to achieve the same effect.
Flora focuses on doing it right from the start, resulting in a cleaner, fuller, and more satisfying experience.
Simply put, Flora costs more because it delivers more.
Responsible cultivation and environmental stewardship are integral to our operation. Flora utilizes advanced, energy-efficient systems and sustainable cultivation practices designed to reduce environmental impact while maintaining uncompromising quality standards.
